Woman Accused Of Being On Facebook While Toddler Drowned A Few Feet Away

August 8, 2013 at 9:11 am by   Woman Accused Of Being On Facebook While Toddler Drowned A Few Feet AwayDallas, TX
– A woman has been arrested after police say she was on Facebook while her best friend’s 3-year-old daughter drowned in a swimming pool a few feet away. According to the affidavit, 37-year-old Kariasa Thomas took her friend’s four children – ages 7, 6, 5 and 3 years old – to the swimming pool at her apartment complex along with her 16-year-old daughter and legally blind husband.
They arrived at the pool at 7pm, after it had already closed, but decided to stay because other people were still swimming in the pool. Although she was aware 3-year-old Kanyce Giddings could not swim and was not equipped with a flotation device, she allowed the girl to stand on the steps with her feet in the water.
Thomas then put her ass in a reclining chair a few feet away and decided to use her phone to log onto Facebook for 15 minutes instead of watching the girl. She also admitted to playing with her pit bull, Sugar.
A couple hours later, an off-duty police officer working as a security guard came to tell everyone the pool was closed and it was time to get out. That’s when Thomas realized Kanyce was missing. She asked the officer for a flashlight to search for her, but found her when she walked into the pool and kicked the child’s lifeless body.
Thomas pulled the girl out of the water and handed her to the officer, who tried to revive the girl by performing CPR. Kanyce was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Kariasa Thomas was arrested and charged with reckless injury to a child and faces up to 20 years in jail if convicted. She remains in a Dallas County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

To the People Complaining About Food Stamps Program Recipients on The Facebook

It wasn't too long ago one in eight of you reading this knew someone who went hungry, even if they didn't talk about it.  Now, the number is one in six of you know someone who is going hungry and they aren't talking about it.   For those not doing the math, that means a lot more hungry people, and they are not talking about it.  I don't talk about being poor a lot on the facebook, because a lot of people don't want to listen when you speak the truth.  They also want to complain about spending money on things but seem to have no problem paying for whatever internet access they have to get onto the facebook, the facebook doesn't charge you or me, but it is NOT free.  You have to have access and a minute or two a day to try to use it the best you can.  So there, it's not free.

In the U.S., the Food Stamp Program recipients have to spend time and gas and take in documents and be stigmatized by people looking when they pay using a brightly colored yellow card at the registers here where I live.

In the U.S., the Food Stamp Program recipients have to spend time and gas and take in documents and be stigmatized by people looking when they pay using a brightly colored yellow card at the registers here where I live.  Anyone thinking people getting help to EAT from the government is wrong, seriously??  If people that complained about feeding the poor and hungry actually read their holy scriptures or lived by their principles they say they have.... They wouldn't be complaining, now would they?  After all, it's really not affecting them, they aren't HUNGRY.  They are sitting on their ass somewhere connected to an information access system and acting as if a poor person just stole their wallet or purse and ran off with it and no one cares about THEM.  The truth is, when it comes to the hungry, they don't have time to care about all of you that have more than enough and complain about their not having to suffer through another sleepless night with an empty stomach and worry over their children doing without a decent, not even "good", but a decent meal.  Thank you to everyone in America who pays taxes so that these children and their parents are not going hungry.  Seventy years ago, a lot of people starved to death, and no one knows who they are.  Today you all would sit and complain on facebook when such things happen.  Good for you.  Go do something about the hunger. Be glad the hungry are not breaking into your house to steal your food while you are eating out at a restaurant and posting to the facebook  to 'tell' your 'friends' how bad the service is.
