Influenza 2013

There is no KNOWN cure for the common cold. Influenza is more severe. Sitting here writing this in the middle of the miniature flu "epidemic" of early 2013. There were at my last knowledge quest, 46 of the continental United States listed as having severe flu. Imagine the loss of revenue if there were no influenza virus. Draw your own conclusions, but my personal belief is that the "Cure for the Common Cold" will be worth far more as an "unsolved mystery" than the yet-to-be-discovered preventative or cure for the viruses.
