          If . Two letters. A word which carries the greatest connotations. And a word which denotes nothing. The word if, is full of possibilities. The word if, is empty. If, speaks to what could have been. If, reminds us of our mistakes.  If had turned the other way. If I had added onions to that recipe. If this then that.If speaks to the future. If this then that. If I work hard then I will succeed. If I buy her roses she will love me. If this then that. These are two examples of the word if. Two to describe the use of the word in the past tense and two using if in the future tense. If has no use in the present tense.  If is a word of imagination.
